The Japan Karate-Do Organization is the premier Karate-Do organization in the world. The organization is guaranteed it's authenticity by it's affiliation with the Authentic Shito-Ryu Founders heir, Soke (Grand Master) Kenzo Mabuni.

The JKO was founded in 1972 at the request of the Grand Master in Japan and is the oldest professional Karate-Do school in San Diego. Under the leadership of Hanshi Minobu MIKI the JKO has grown to over 40 clubs in 10 countries on 4 continents with some 3,000 members.

The JKO teaches traditional, authentic Shito-Ryu Karate-do. Our style is called Hokushin, which means "North Star." It is Hanshi MIKI's desire that we serve as a guiding light to others, just as the North Star guides travelers.
