Sensei Henry has been teaching martial arts in Raleigh since 1994. He studied the Shotokan style of Japanese Karate-Do for over a decade, earning his second degree black belt in Shotokan.
In 2001, he was introduced to Shito-ryu Karate-Do by Shihan Rob Alvelais and began his training with Hanshi Minobu MIKI and the Japan Karate-Do Organization. He currently holds a third degree black belt in Shito-ryu Karate-Do. He also studies Yamane-Ryu bojutsu and Kenshin-Ryu Kobudo with Shihan Alvelais and Hanshi MIKI.
Currently, Henry studies Japanese Sword (Muso Jikiden Eishin-Ryu Iaido ) with Hanshi MIKI, and just recently returned from Ehime, Japan, where he studied under Hanshi Iwata in Iyo Ozu, in the classical "Tosa" style of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido.
He works as a Database Administrator in RTP and lives near Garner, NC with his sons, Caleb and Camden.
